The terminology
There are basically two different types of ‘pages’ that can be added into a Wordpress website:
A Page
This is a page of content that stays consistent in your menu structure. The Pages are permanent items that refer to core informational pages for your business such as Home, Services, Products, About Us and Contact Us.

You may insert links to any types of files into your posts or pages. The normal type of files would be PDF, ZIP, JPG etc. It is rare that MSWord Doc files or Application Exe files are added. Not everyone might be using MSWord and EXE files are a bit of a security risk.
