Tips of business card design and printing:
- Keep the business card design clean. Do not clutter the design with too many design elements. The client reading the card needs to get the feeling that the company is focussed and transparent. Having a cleanly designed business card helps with giving the impression of quality and a company that can be trusted.
- Group the contact information logically. There are basically 3 main elements of information on a business card. The company branding, the individual whose business card it is and the contact information. Keep these items separated so that they do not intefere with each other. They are all related, but should still allow for individual focus. The branding is company level, the individual’s name and position is unique to his business card and the contact information is a mix between the company and individual.
- Single of double sided business card? Designing and printing a double sided business card will cost more than a single sided one. Only choose double sided if you would perhaps like to add your company’s services/products listed there or for design aesthetics perhaps. We find that most companies only need a single sided design.
- Printing 500 business cards or less? The standard print amount for business cards are a set of 500. You can choose to print less, but we find that the cost reduction is not that much. At around R250 excl vat it will not break the bank to print 500. Naturally you can choose to print less. You might look at printing at a Jetline near you.
- Printing effects There are a lot of different effects that you can choose. They can include varnishes, embossing, foiling, die cutting, lamination etc. The cost of these printing effects can dramatically increase the printing costs so use them only if you definitely see value in them.
